How it works

  1. Make your own copy in Google Sheets. You need a free Google account.
  2. On Settings, pick NSW (Eastern or Western division), VIC, QLD, WA, SA, TAS, ACT, NT or New Zealand. Different dates at your school (Catholic, independent, or an NZ school setting its own Term 1 start)? Type them in the "Your dates" cells and everything updates.
  3. On Days off, switch on your regional holidays (show days, NZ anniversary days) and add pupil-free days or sports carnivals.
  4. Type your timetable once: Monday to Friday, or a numbered cycle of 5 to 10 days (10 = Week A / Week B). The cycle skips weekends and days off.
  5. Plan your lessons week by week. Every period is already filled in from your timetable.

Good to know

  • Dates are for 2027 government schools, taken from each state, territory and New Zealand government's published school calendar and public-holiday list. Always check them against your school's own calendar.
  • Victoria's Friday before the AFL Grand Final is expected to be Friday 1 October 2027 (in the school holidays). The Victorian Government had not yet confirmed it when this was made: type it on Days off when it does.
  • No curriculum content is included. Weightings are yours to set, so the markbook works for any subject.
  • Typed lesson plans stay in their week. Set your dates before you start planning.
  • This is a digital download. Nothing is posted to you.
The markbook: totals, % and weighted % per student worked out automatically, plus class lists for 8 classes of 60 students (sample data)
